Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities

Chapter 2136

"I was the one who stabbed Chandler in the heart. Is there really any need for this?" Jenson asked.

With Destiny Corporation's team already halfway in, he was reluctant to stir up any more trouble.

"You know better than anyone how cunning Chandler was. Regardless, I've made my decision. We're going to retrieve his body. If you don't want to come, you can stay at the base," Colin said firmly, eager to prove his resolve to Georgia.

"None of your men would welcome me here. If I stay behind, they'll probably tear me apart. I'll come with you. When do we leave?"

"Tomorrow."

"Alright, there's still one night left. That should be enough time to give the new captives a proper welcome," Jenson said, planning to send something to Chandler and the others before leaving.

Recalling Georgia's earlier words, Colin casually added, "Trinity Alliance is very skilled at exploiting people. If anyone wants to defect, we might want to consider letting them stay."

Nonetheless, Jenson quickly shut him down. "This isn't up for discussion. I've spent nearly a decade hiding from Destiny Corporation. I'm going to make them pay, one by one."

Seeing that "Zac" was set on his course, Colin didn't press further. "Suit yourself. Get ready."

Three days later, a long convoy departed from the villa area, making its way toward the airport.

The first two vehicles cleared the road, followed by a car carrying Abigail, Lincoln, and Sienna. Behind them was a truck transporting Chandler's "body", with two additional cars acting as escorts.

The convoy was an imposing sight, drawing attention wherever it went. It wasn't until they reached a more secluded stretch near the airport that the crowd of onlookers began to dissipate.

However, as they neared the airport avenue, several black cars suddenly appeared from both the front and rear, completely blocking their path. With no way forward or backward, the convoy was forced to stop.

Following the plan, Abigail stepped out of her car and made her way to the front of the convoy. As expected, she saw Jenson, disguised as Zac, standing next to Colin.

"Zac, you scumbag! How dare you show your face here?" Abigail shouted, pointing at Jenson.

"Why wouldn't I dare?" Jenson sneered, spreading his arms wide. "I'm Chandler's brother, after all. Who else would be the one to send him off on his final journey?"

Abigail stifled a laugh, quickly raising her voice to sound more serious. "You scumbag. You don't have the right to send Mr. Newton off!"

"Who else is more qualified than me? The useless pair in the car, perhaps? Jenson shot back, playing his role convincingly to ease Colin's doubts "No matter how clever Chandler was, in the end, he died without anyone to see him off."

"Stop wasting time. Stay alert. I'll check the truck," Colin said, his impatience growing.

"Understood," Jenson replied, raising his gun and pointing it at Abigail. "Tell your men to lower their weapons, or the first to pay will be those two little kids inside the truck!" Content belongs to Novelxo.org

Sticking to the plan, Abigail ordered her men to lower their weapons.

With the immediate threat neutralized, Colin moved toward the truck. Standing behind it, he signaled for his men to open the door.

When the truck door swung open, the harsh lights revealed a transparent coffin positioned at the center. It emitted a cold mist, likely intended to preserve the body inside.

Colin stepped inside, cautiously edging closer to the coffin. But as he advanced a few steps, the door behind him slammed shut with a sharp bang.

Before he could react, a rapid barrage of gunfire erupted, each shot tearing through the air like a series of firecrackers exploding around the vehicle.

Startled, Colin quickly drew his gun from his waist, leveling it at the door, his body tense and on high alert.

After a moment, the gunfire finally stopped, leaving only a thick, suffocating silence.

Colin struggled to swallow, his

throat tight with anxiety. His eyes were wide, flickering with panic and

fear, but above all, they reflected an overwhelming sense of shock and disbelief. Content belongs to Novelxo.org
