Marshall chuckled. "What's with the tone? Getting impatient already? No good deed goes unnoticed, you know."

Eric clicked his tongue. "It's the middle of the night here! Do you have something to say or not? If not, I'm hanging up."

"Alright, alright!" Marshall laughed. "I've got something to ask you-have you been aware that Hadley's been in touch with Zane Hayes lately?"

"What?" Eric blinked hard, sleep vanishing from his system. "What's Hadley got to do with Zane Hayes?"

"Seriously? You don't know?"

"Of course, I don't!"

Up to this point, Eric hadn't even known they'd ever crossed paths.

Marshall dropped his teasing manner and spoke earnestly. "From what I heard, she went to him for help with moving assets. Real estate too. Any thoughts on what she's up to?"

He was desperate to understand her intentions, too.

Certain tests had to be done on an empty stomach, meaning Hadley had to wait until the next day.
