Chapter 116
Chapter 116 Nothing More To Say
Elliot laughed coldly and looked directly at Amanda, articulating each word distinctly, “From the moment you conspired with
Owen to manipulate me, you should have known that I would never love you.”
Nobody would like being forced into a marriage with someone they didn’t love. Everything Amanda had done only pushed him
further away.
Amanda’s face turned deathly pale.
She knew Elliot could be merciless, but she had hoped he would spare her some dignity in front of the gathered
crowd.
Elliot, however, did not relent.
He ruthlessly crushed all her hopes and expectations.
Though he spoke quietly, his voice carried, ensuring that everyone present could hear him.
“Elliot, how can you say that? Amanda has only ever thought about what’s best for you. You’re being too harsh on her,” Evan
interjected, shaking his head in disapproval.
Elliot turned slightly to face Evan with a piercing gaze and retorted, “I haven’t gone looking for you, and yet here you are, offering
yourself up.”
The Andrews and the Willis families had orchestrated such an elaborate scheme. They were clearly determined to keep him
here. However, Elliot was never someone who could be easily controlled.
Before Evan could react, Jeremy interjected sharply, “Elliot, you better be sensible, or you’ll end up with nothing!”
The threat hung heavy in the air.
Jeremy turned to comfort Amanda, his eyes still fixed sternly on Elliot.
The rest of the crowd remained silent, clearly in agreement with Jeremy.
Elliot massaged his forehead and then, unexpectedly, let out a soft laugh, which cut through the tense atmosphere.
“What are you laughing at?” Owen demanded, clearly irritated.
“I’m laughing at your naivety. Do you really think you can control me like this?” Elliot sneered. His voice was calm, almost serene.
With his hands in his pockets and backlit by the soft lighting, only his chiseled profile was visible to Amanda. It was exceptionally
handsome and made her heart skip a beat.

She wanted to help Elliot, but she knew that doing so would mean losing any chance of being with him once he
left the hotel.
She was caught between her wanting to see him free and her yearning to keep him close.
Ultimately, she chose silence. She would rather have him by her side, even if only in name, rather than see him with another
woman.
“Elliot, do you really think you can just walk out of this hotel? Since you arrived, we’ve had our men stationed all around. Just
accept your fate,” Evan said while pacing around Elliot confidently. “Amanda is beautiful and comes from a respectable family.
She’s a thousand times better than your ex–girlfriend. She’ll make an excellent wife.”
Elliot knew arguing was futile. He pulled out his phone to find no signal. Seeing this, he chuckled to himself and slipped it back
into his pocket.
“If you think she’s so great, why don’t you marry her? That way, we don’t have to cancel the engagement,” Elliot mockingly
suggested as he strolled along the red carpet.
He had some time left, so he decided he might as well play their game for a while.
“You’re too presumptuous, Elliot!” Jeremy exclaimed while shooting daggers at Elliot.
Was his daughter someone just anyone could marry? If Amanda hadn’t been so set on Elliot, Jeremy would have dealt with him
long ago for his disrespect.
Elliot sneered. If they thought this was presumptuous, what he was about to do would shock them even more.
He turned his gaze to Gavin, who was standing beside Owen, and said, “Grandpa, I’ll give you one more chance.
you accountable for your actions.” Back off now, and I won’t hold
Gavin remained unmoved. “Elliot, you’re my most promising successor. I want you to join forces with Amanda to take our family
to new heights.”
Elliot sighed. “It seems there’s nothing more to say.”
