Chapter 31
Vanessa was pretty bummed out with her. She sighed, "Did you get what you're throwing away by leaving Crescendo Sound
Workshop? You know how precious your students are and how many people are green with envy looking at you?"
Eloise got it. But what could she do? All she could do was to weep and apologize to her mentor.
Ms. Vanessa was seriously ticked off. She lit up a slim cigarette, took a half drag and asked, "Eloise, did you piss someone off?"
Eloise silently nodded. She knew this mess had something to do with Ravenna and Max. She wondered, what other tricks could
Max possibly pull to screw her over?
Ms. Vanessa stubbed out the cigarette, feeling super regretful, "To calm down those parents, Eloise, you have to step away from
Crescendo Sound Workshop for now. When there's a chance, I'll help you get back."
But they both knew how hard it would be for Eloise to bounce back in the industry after this storm.
Eloise left Vanessa's office, looking as pale as a sheet.
While packing up, her colleagues sympathized with her. Only Ravenna sneered, "Eloise, you should know the rules here! Just
because Vanessa has a soft spot for you doesn't mean you can break rules. Now look, your reputation in the industry is down the
drain! Who's gonna hire you to teach them piano?"
Eloise took a deep breath and said coolly, "You ganged up on me with Max, didn't you? Ravenna, aren't you afraid that once Max
is done with, he'll ditch you?"
Ravenna moved closer to her, whispering with a smirk, "Eloise, you think I'm like you? Let me tell you, there's so much you don't
know! I was already in touch with Max when you guys were together, get my drift?" Ravenna said slowly, "We had a thing!"
Eloise felt sick to her stomach. She was disgusted with Max, and Ravenna was gloating. Eloise said coldly, "Well, you are the
lucky one!"
She picked up her box to leave, but Ravenna grabbed her arm. Ravenna wasn't letting Eloise go!
Eloise's agony wasn't enough for her! Not near the slightest!
Why? Why did everything always go Eloise's way? She got Vanessa's favor and was Max's girlfriend!

While she, Ravenna, had struggled so long, always in Eloise's shadow. Was it because she was not as good as Eloise? No, it
was because she came from a small town and people looked down on her!
Now, she finally had Eloise under her heel!
Ravenna gloated, "You know why Max never touched you? Because you're always so cold that he lost interest."
Eloise chuckled, "Then I wish you and Max happily ever after!" With that, she pushed Ravenna away and left in a hurry.
Ravenna was livid! But soon she laughed again, because what was there to be jealous of Eloise now. She had nothing and
looked like a stray dog.
Ravenna sat down happily and sent a message: [I bought a black silk nightgown. Wanna come over and see me in it?]
The reply came two hours later, very cold: [Busy with work! Don't text me unless it's something important!]
Ravenna felt a bit hurt, but also sweet. She believed she could win Max over. His attitude towards Orlena was just a charade;
only she could truly capture his heart.
