Thinking about what Alex had put her through since last night, Ellie frowned. She stood at the door, but still didn’t open it.
Then another message came. [I found some leads on those people. Don’t you want to know?]
After reading the message, Ellie finally opened the door.
“Do you have any sense of contract?” Alex said, holding a large thermos as he stepped inside and pulled Ellie into the dining
room.
“What did you find out?” Ellie couldn’t help but ask.
Alex took out the leftovers, unscrewed the thermos, and served a bowl of chicken soup. “You took too long to open the door, I
forgot.”
Ellie turned to leave the dining room, but Alex pressed her down into the chair. “You worked hard last night. I made this soup for
you, try it.”
Alex sat next to Ellie and tried to feed her with a spoon.
Ellie looked at the soup. She immediately remembered that it was the soup she had seen in Orion’s room before.
Alex noticed her hesitation but continued. “You really think I’m just going to use you and not care about you?”
They locked eyes, and Ellie opened her mouth to take the soup.
“I’ll drink it myself,” Ellie took the spoon from Alex’s hand.
Watching Ellie drink the soup, Alex’s lips curled into a smile. He leaned in closer, naturally wrapping his arm around her waist. “I
changed the bed sheets. Let’s stay at my place tonight.”
“Cough, cough, cough,” Ellie almost choked.

“Why are you reacting like that?” Alex gently rubbed her back.

Clearing her throat, Ellie gave him a pitiful look.
Alex said, “Stop giving me those seductive looks, or I might lose control.”
Ellie said, “I’m not feeling well,” Ellie hesitated, lowering her tone to appear weak.
“Where do you feel uncomfortable?” Before she could answer, Alex lifted her up. “Let’s go to my place. I’ll check on you.”
At the door, Alex, holding her, grabbed the doorknob and refused to let go.
“I’m not uncomfortable there!” Ellie said, gritting her teeth.
Alex stopped and, seeing Ellie’s embarrassment, guessed, “Do you want to go to the hospital?”
“I haven’t had that feeling since I had the kids. I can’t handle it. Just let me rest for a few days, and I’ll be fine,” Ellie said softly,
trying to comfort him.
Alex stared at her, his eyes shifting. He closed the door and, in a passionate kiss, pinned Ellie against the door.

“I knew you’d be obedient!” Alex smiled, picking Ellie up and taking her to the bedroom.
“What are you doing?” Ellie cried out as Alex started to undress.
“I’m not going to do anything, just sleep with you,” Alex grinned, pulling her close, kissing her lips.

Ellie took a deep breath and grabbed Alex’s hand that was unbuttoning the shirt.
“I’m used to sleeping alone. Give me some time to adjust, okay? You should go back to your place,” Ellie said gently, trying not to
sound too firm as she coaxed him.
Looking at the soft, delicate woman in front of him, Alex couldn’t bring himself to leave. He pulled her into his arms, lingering
close like a lovestruck teenager, staring at her lips and swallowing hard. “Let me at least kiss you for a bit.”
Ellie knew something was coming. “Kiss, for a bit?”
