Caden slowly calmed down, relaxed his brow, and reassuringly said to me, “Alright, you don’t need to worry about this. I’ve
already sent Yale to find Heidi’s whereabouts. Your main focus now is to rest and get ready for the design competition. Go and
win that awar
I couldn’t help but laugh, wrapping my arms around Caden and softly saying, “Okay, okay, I got it. You don’t have to worry about
me.”
Caden really enjoyed the playful, almost coquettish tone I used and couldn’t help but smile. He gently lifted my chin and kissed
my bottom lip lightly, and then pinched my cheek gently.
“You’re my wife. Who else should I care about if not you? Leave all those troublesome things to me, and from now on, you can
just relax and enjoy life.”
I lowered my gaze slightly but kept my eyes on Caden, eventually nodding. He looked at me, unable to hold back, and kissed me
passionately.
Just as we were lost in the moment, my phone suddenly rang.
“Hold on.” I gently pushed Caden away, pulled out my phone, saw the number, and glanced at him.
“It’s Michelle.”
“Then answer it,” Caden said calmly.
I pressed the answer button and put the phone to my ear. “Michelle, what’s up?”
“Ah, Rosaline!” Michelle’s sweet and lively voice came through. “So, here’s the thing–tomorrow is my birthday, and my dad is
hosting a birthday dinner. I wanted to ask if you and Caden have time to come. We haven’t seen each other in a while, and my
dad mentioned that he misses Caden.”
Michelle referred to Caden by his first name, which might be typical of Fostrau’s warm nature, but I also knew what kind of
feelings she harbored for him. Hearing her say this left me feeling a bit uneasy.

I paused for a moment, about to refuse, when I heard Michelle say, “You didn’t say anything, so I’m taking that as a yes. See you
tomorrow night at 8. Don’t be late!
“Alright, we’ll be there on time,” I sighed helplessly.
Hearing the change in my tone, Caden asked in confusion, “What’s wrong? Why did she call?”
“Michelle said tomorrow night is her birthday, and Duke Gerald Daffron is hosting a birthday dinner for
her. She wants us both to come.”
I sighed again, glanced at Caden, and suddenly felt a twinge of jealousy. I couldn’t help but teasingly say, “Someone’s got ulterior
motives.”
Caden chuckled when he heard that, walking over to wrap his arm around my shoulder. “Are you jealous? Don’t worry. Even if
we go to her birthday dinner, I’ll only be with you. I won’t even spare a glance at any other woman.”
“Okay, okay.” I felt a bit shy, knowing he’d read my mind, and gently pushed him away. “Who said anything like that? Let’s just
head back.”

After hanging up the phone, a sense of unease washed over me. Even though it had been my idea to invite Rosaline and Caden
to the birthday dinner, just thinking about how they would appear together at the party the next day made me feel a little sad.
Yes, I had fallen for Caden at first sight, and my wolf was certain of it.
Although we weren’t destined mates, I just liked him, and I wanted him.

But why had Caden been Rosaline’s fiancé?
Ever since I had seen Caden last time, I couldn’t stop thinking about him. There were handsome men in the Fostrau wolf pack,
but I hadn’t seen anyone as good looking as Caden.
I couldn’t think of Caden without smiling these days. In my dreams, he was always there. Every time I closed my eyes, I could
see his face.
But I also knew how painful it was to miss someone, which was why I wanted to take advantage of the opportunity at the birthday
dinner to see Caden again even if it was just to talk to him.
But I was hoping for more than just talk.
I knew that I wanted to keep seeing Caden, to do many, many things with him–far beyond just being “acquaintances.”
But every time I thought about Caden being with Rosaline, especially since he was her fiancé, I felt a pang of discomfort.
Although Rosaline wasn’t a bad person, when it came to matters of the heart, who could make sense of them?
Camilla’s POV:
Ever since Anna came to me to have a custom dress made, she had been showing up at Loe Studio every few days. She often
initiated conversations with me as well. Thankfully, I remembered Rosaline’s advice and kept my distance, not being overly
friendly or close, fearing that this woman might have some ulterior motives.
One day, Anna came again, holding a basket of fruit.
“Great work, everyone!” Anna knocked on the door and walked into the studio with a smile, greeting everyone as if she was very
familiar with them, and distributed the fruit to the team.
“I came to check on the dress today and brought some fruit for you all. Don’t be shy. Help yourselves.”
Every time Anna came, she was always so friendly that nobody paid attention to her real intentions. Some of the designers even
enjoyed chatting with her, thinking she was a great client.
Except for me.
